A Word

From AMI’s Emerging Marketer Patron

“I’m really proud to be the patron of the AMI Emerging Marketers Mentoring Program. Mentoring is valuable for marketers at any stage in their career because it gives you a network and someone to lean on as well as additional support and that feedback loop which is invaluable for all marketers. For senior marketers looking to give back, get involved because what we we might take for granted as marketers and as assumed knowledge isn’t actually and we can provide some great insights, council and leadership to our community and what that will do is give our whole marketing community, and more broadly Australia a better outcome. “

TESTIMONIALS

Emerging Marketing Mentoring Program Participants

Natalie Claire King

fenton & fenton

“The Program gave me access to insider knowledge expressed with warmth and generosity, confidence in expressing my own ideas within a team, and affirming me to believe in the quality of my own work. It helped me to reignite my own enthusiasm when I felt challenged or unmotivated. This led me to become more motivated in the office and inspiring my own team and colleagues. It challenged me to do things differently, more effectively and instilled the confidence to discus a promotion with my manager – giving me tactics on the best ways to approach this conversation so I felt prepared and confident.”

Alyce Lopez Brierley

Australian Marketing Institute

“I loved my mentor! She has helped me so much over the last couple of months. Whether it’s catching up for coffee occasionally or even working things out over text or Whatsapp, she’s always there to help. As an emerging marketer, having the support of a mentor has really helped me navigate professional challenges, take my marketing strategy to the next level and even get guidance on building my own business case. I’d recommend this program to anyone to is serious about advancing their career.”

Mehreen Lamba

Gripset Industries

“Being a part of this program was such an incredible journey and honour, magnified by having such a strong and inspirational man like Wallace Long at the helm! When I first joined the program, I hoped for instant answers to dilemmas about the future. Rather than mapping out one direct path, the program has instead served a much broader purpose. It has given me valuable tools to make the most of all career as well as business opportunities and to become my own agent for change.”

Marcus Kirchner

Maggie Beer Products

“The Emerging Marketers Mentoring Program has been a valuable source of help to me during my first year of full-time work, with my mentor helping me talk through any of the challenges I was having, and getting the crux of issues causing these challenges.”

Don Praveen Liyanage

KMT Partners

“Being an international Masters student, I wanted to develop my industry specific skill set while I am studying full time. The AMI Emerging Marketers Program helped me to broaden my network and understanding of industry requirements to be work-ready.”

James Carroll

People’s Credit Choice Union

“Gaining exposure to the complete end to end process of campaign development, condensed into a few months has been an excellent experience.”

Dennis Freedman

MIT

“I have been a mentor for Emerging Marketers Victoria for the last eight years and have thoroughly enjoyed being involved in the program. Each mentee I have worked with has brought different interests, questions and wants to our discussions, but all have a common desire to understand more about the world of marketing. Whilst my experience in marketing is largely based around one industry, we have always found plenty to talk about and I have been able to introduce them to other experts in this field. I have personally found it a very enriching experience, and would recommend it to other marketers, as a way of giving back to young marketers.”

Stefan Bugryn

Freelance Producer

“When I started out with my career, I recognised that networking was going to be important with getting my foot in the door. The AMI mentoring program allowed me to learn the the ropes and get my introductions to some industry people, who helped me on my way to a fruitful career that has spanned CH07, Time Out and Mamamia.”

Kirra Kissane

OMD

“As an aspiring marketer, I have had the opportunity to meet and speak with industry professionals and gain valuable insight into the industry. I have enjoyed the challenge and excitement of working with professional marketers, who have provided guidance and support, as I advance to the next level of my career. Industry experience has solidified and confirmed my passion for marketing.”

Emerging Marketers = Synergy

Mentoring, it turns out, is more than just giving back to the marketing community and helping younger marketers, it also presents the chance to exchange ideas and learn from each other. Mentoring is about the chance to create something together. It’s about synergy....
