Intrepid Travel taps Alexa Theofanou as head of marketing for ANZ

Intrepid Travel has recruited Alexa Theofanou as the new Head of Marketing for Australia and New Zealand, effective from 22 September 2025. Her appointment is part of a broader evolution in Intrepid’s global marketing leadership, following Louise Laing’s promotion to Vice President of USA Marketing.
Theofanou brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having worked with global brands, purpose-led businesses, and category disruptors. Her career includes senior marketing roles with Havaianas, Thankyou, and Minor Figures. She has also worked across various sectors, including FMCG, sport, and creative industries. Most recently, she consulted with Studio Dive, a creative studio known for its innovative experiential work.
Yvette Thompson, ANZ General Manager at Intrepid Travel, commented on Theofanou’s appointment, stating, “Alexa brings the perfect mix of global perspective, creative edge and purpose-driven experience to Intrepid. We were impressed not only by her track record of growing brands but also by her ability to connect with communities through bold, values-led marketing. She’s a fantastic addition to our ANZ leadership team as we continue to expand our brand and impact across the region.”
