Katie Malone sails in as CMO at Aurora Expeditions

Katie Malone has been confirmed as the new chief marketing officer at Australian travel company, Aurora Expeditions, tasked with driving marketing and commercial collaborate on recent growth and forward strategy initiatives.

The 20-year travel and hospitality category marketer switches across from Carnival, where she’s been marketing director for P&O Cruises for two-and-a-half years. The P&O brand is being retired by the cruise operator, and Malone took a key role in the transition.

Prior to this, Malone was group director of marketing for Crystalbrook Collection for five years. She’s also worked in Dubai for hotel brands including Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts, and The St Regis Abu Dhabi, plus Langham Hospitality group in NZ and Hong Kong.

“Katie’s deep expertise across global travel and hospitality, combined with her purpose-driven leadership, makes her a fantastic fit for Aurora,” said CEO of Aurora Expeditions, Michael Heath. “Her vision and experience will be instrumental as we continue to grow our brand, expand into new markets and deliver unforgettable expedition experiences in the world’s most remote and awe-inspiring destinations.”

Aurora Expeditions was founded in 1991 and is B Corp certified. It provides tours with a focus on remote locations such as Antarctica.

At Aurora, Malone will collaborate with marketing and commercial teams to consolidate recent growth and drive forward strategy and campaigns.
