Red Rooster marketing chief digs new professional roots and joins Yates
Former Red Rooster marketing chief, Ashley Hughes, has become the new director of marketing for Yates, part of the DuluxGroup portfolio of products.
“It’s a privilege to be part of a brand with over 130 years of history and a deep connection with gardeners across Australia and New Zealand. I’m looking forward to working with a talented, passionate, and down-to-earth team in a culture that genuinely values people and growth,” Hughes said.
It’s a category shift for Hughes, who was with Red Rooster for six-and-a-half years as director of marketing. Prior to this, he spent six years with KFC in the Yum! Brands stable. He started his marketing career with Diageo, working in strategy before taking up brand management duties across various spirit brands.
The marketing director’s post for Yates was previously held by Karen Sterling-Levis, who left to join Lion as brand director for its core beer brands a year ago.
DuluxGroup’s stable of umbrella brands also includes Dulux, British Paints, Selleys, Cabot’s and B&D.
