ALDI Australia, Budgy Smuggler launch hot cross bun-themed Easter swimwear collection

ALDI Australia has gone hard on hot cross bun season this year with the addition of a Giant Hot Cross Bun to its Easter bakery range, alongside the launch of a hot cross bun-themed swimwear collection in collaboration with Budgy Smuggler Australia.
The ‘Bun-gy Smugglers’ swimwear collaboration includes men’s bottoms priced at $58.50 and women’s one-piece swimsuits priced at $90, with all profits to be donated to ALDI’s national charity partner, Camp Quality, which supports children facing cancer.
Head of Partnerships at Budgy Smuggler, Jimmy Exelby, said: “ALDI does Good Different, we do Good Smuggling, so it’s a no brainer to combine forces and deliver the hottest buns this Easter. These tasty treats aren’t just good different, they’re perfect for anyone that wants to look (and feel) like a snack.”
The Giant Hot Cross Bun is 633% larger than ALDI’s classic fruit hot cross bun, crafted from genuine French brioche, infused with fruit and spices. It weighs 550 grams and measures nearly 20 centimetres in diameter.
Both launches are part of ALDI’s 2025 Easter promotion, which features its largest ever line-up of hot cross buns.
ALDI Australia’s Buying Director for Bread and Bakery, Luke Iemma, said: “We’re always excited to introduce our customers to new additions to our Easter bakery range each year, and we’re sure hot cross bun aficionados will love ALDI’s Giant Brioche Hot Cross Bun this season. The oversized Easter speciality weighs 550g and at close to 20cm in diameter, it’s almost the same size as a soccer ball! Now the only decision left to make is if you plan to share it with your loved ones or eat it all to yourself. No judgement here!”
To further engage its customer base, ALDI will be giving away 100 pairs of the Bun-gy Smugglers to its #ALDIcore shoppers. The giveaway will be conducted through a competition on ALDI’s Facebook Group and Instagram, running from March 19 to March 23.
