Brent Hill appointed CMO for Brisbane 2032 Olympics

Former Tourism Fiji CEO and South Australia Tourism Commission CMO, Brent Hill, has become the new chief marketing officer of the Brisbane 2032 Olympics and Paralympic Games Organising Committee (Brisbane 2032).
The former CEO of Tourism Fiji was announced today following a global recruitment search and as Brisbane 2032 transitions from a planning stage to strategic implementation and ultimately, delivery. He takes up the reins on 1 November.
Hill joins Brisbane 2032 having held national and international executive marketing positions over more than two decades across tourism, government, finance, retail and telecommunications sectors. He has also previously been recognised as a top 25 CMO in the former CMO50 program.
Hill returned to Australia a couple of months ago after four years as chief of Tourism Fiji. He was previously CMO of SATC for over five-and-a-half years, and also worked in senior marketing roles previously at People’s Choice Credit Union along with Harris Scarfe Australia.
Brisbane 2032 is transitioning from its planning phase to strategic implementation and delivery stages. Cindy Hook, CEO of Brisbane 2032, and Andrew Liveris, President of Brisbane 2032, have both expressed their support and expectations for Hill’s appointment.
“We have the opportunity of a lifetime to highlight Brisbane and Queensland on the world stage in 2032, as millions visit and billions tune in to witness one of the biggest sporting occasions and a truly unifying event,” said Hook. “Having Brent’s global marketing and tourism experience positions us to maximise the opportunities the Games will afford, including supporting lasting legacies for Brisbane, Queensland and beyond.
“Brent has a strong track record in executing global strategic campaigns and activations. I’m looking forward to working with him and the broader team to bring our brand to life, particularly as we prepare to become the next Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games Host after LA28.”
Liveris commented on the scale of the marketing challenge. “We have a multi-billion dollar Games to market and our attraction and perception will be crucial on a local, national and international level,” he said. “Brent has significant experience focusing widespread attention on specific campaigns, leading teams to deliver effective and sustained marketing and brand awareness and capturing hearts and minds for a unified cause.”
Hill’s responsibilities will include oversight, planning, and delivery of the Games’ brand assets, marketing and experiential campaigns, and live sites across Australia and abroad.
“As a proud Australian, I vividly remember the excitement across the country 25 years ago as Sydney and communities across this country celebrated our home Games,” he said. “In 2032, the world’s attention will be on Brisbane and Queensland and we have an incredible opportunity to elevate the city and state on the global stage like never before.
“I can’t wait to promote the wealth of accolades, people and experiences that makes us unique and attracts millions of people to our shores every year.”
