David Jones launches mobile app as part of $65m tech transformation

David Jones has launched a mobile app for iOS and Android devices as part of the department store’s tech transformation strategy that will see it investing $65 million over the next three years.

The app was developed in collaboration with global software engineering consultancy, Mindera. It’s designed to provide seamless navigation, push notifications, a dynamic homepage, and an intuitive, user-friendly interface.

Future enhancements include personalised wishlist notifications, product recommendations, express checkout, native live chat, and loyalty program integration when David Jones Rewards relaunches in mid-2025.

Scott Fyfe, CEO of David Jones, stated, “As we deliver our Vision 2025+ strategy, our focus is on innovation and updating our platforms, offerings, and experiences to service a modern customer into the future. We know that 70% of our online traffic comes from a mobile device and we will continue to innovate the mobile app with the aim to double the size of our online business in the next three years.”

The David Jones mobile app is now available for free download in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
