Healthengine COO and former marketer leaves; new CCO appointed
Chief operations officer and former head of growth and marketing for Healthengine, Tara Heath, has confirmed she’s exiting the firm more than nine years after first joining as a marketing manager. Her departure comes as the organisation confirms a new chief commercial officer from July and also settles in a recently appointed CMO.
Heath kicked off her professional career at Creative Activation as a field marketing account manager, before rising up to organisational and learning development manager. She then joined cleaning products manufacturer, Enjo, as a senior marketing executive and became national brand and marketing manager for 18 months before making the switch to HealthEngine.
Heath will now take up the reins as Chief Operating Officer at Simply Wall St, an Australian startup, commencing in September.
“Joining Simply Wall St marks an exciting new chapter in my career, and I am eager to bring my expertise in growth marketing and operational leadership to this innovative company,” she said. “Simply Wall St has established itself as a leader in financial technology, providing intuitive tools and insights that empower investors worldwide. I am inspired by the company’s mission to simplify investing through accessible, data-driven solutions, and I look forward to contributing to its continued growth and success.
“As I embark on this new adventure with Simply Wall St, I remain committed to fostering growth and driving impactful change. I am confident that together with the talented team at Simply Wall St, we will achieve great things and continue to revolutionise the financial technology sector.”
Reflecting on her time at Healthengine, Heath told Mi3: “Joining Healthengine as Marketing Manager and being part of its evolution from a startup to a leader in healthcare technology has been a remarkable experience. Together with an exceptional team, we have navigated challenges, celebrated successes, and built a culture rooted in innovation and collaboration,” she said.
Among the milestones Heath said she’s particularly proud of is building the Growth Marketing team, which has played a pivotal role in expanding reach and impact.
“Through strategic initiatives and innovative campaigns, we have helped over 14 million Australians access care in new, efficient ways, revolutionizing healthcare access across the country,” she continued.
Heath said she was grateful to founders, particularly Dr Marcus Tan and Adam Yap, for guidance and “unwavering support throughout my time. Their vision and encouragement have been instrumental in my growth and development,” she said.
“While I bid farewell to my current role, I remain committed to HealthEngine’s mission and will continue to cheer on its future achievements. I am confident that HealthEngine is poised for even greater success, and I look forward to witnessing its continued growth and innovation in the years ahead.”
Heath’s departure news comes a week after Healthengine, a health appointments booking engine, confirmed it had appointed David Watson as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Watson has a track record in sales leadership and innovation across a wide range of industries, having held senior roles at LinkedIn, Salesforce and employee wellbeing platform Sonder.
“David’s appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to servicing our healthcare customers nationwide,” Healthengine CEO, Dan Stinton, said. “With extensive commercial experience across a wide range of industries, we look forward to working with him to cement our position as the leading primary healthcare marketplace in Australia.”
For his part, Watson was looking forward to the challenge ahead. “Being part of a company that makes a difference – leveraging innovative approaches to drive business success and fostering a culture of excellence – is something I’m incredibly passionate about,” he commented. “With a mission of improving access to healthcare for all Australians, there’s plenty for me to get stuck into at Healthengine. I’m looking forward to working with Dan and the team to achieve our ambitious goals and help unlock the company’s full potential.”
In other executive switches, Healthengine also appointed Matt Gudge as its Chief Marketing Officer in March. Gudge was formerly with Mable and Big Red Group, spending 11 months with Mable as a director of growth ventures, and four-and-a-half years as group marketing director at Big Red Group.
