PayPal Australia goes live with Will Ferrell campaign

PayPal Australia has unveiled its most extensive consumer campaign to date, enlisting the talents of actor and comedian Will Ferrell. The campaign is designed to promote PayPal Pay in 4, a buy now, pay later (BNPL) service.
The campaign, which features Ferrell, will be broadcast during significant sporting events, including the AFL and NRL Grand Finals. Additionally, it will roll out on various streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Binge. It is set on an airplane, where Ferrell humorously assumes control of the in-flight announcements to highlight the PayPal Pay in 4 service.
The campaign is part of PayPal’s global brand platform and introduces a refreshed brand identity, complete with a new logo and visual style.
Caitlin Hoey, Head of Consumer Marketing at PayPal Australia said, “This is the largest consumer campaign PayPal has ever run in Australia, and we’re thrilled it features iconic A-list actor, Will Ferrell, whose universal humour resonates across generations. He brings unmistakable energy to the creative while shining a spotlight on the benefits of PayPal Pay in 4, a simple BNPL solution that millions of Australians can use with confidence.”
PayPal Pay in 4 is available at most online stores that accept PayPal, offering users the convenience of splitting payments while benefiting from PayPal’s secure platform and Buyer Protection policy. The service is positioned as a straightforward BNPL option, with the advertisement featuring Ferrell stating, “Pay in 4 with no interest and no late fees with PayPal.”
PayPal Australia, established in 2005, currently reports over 9.5 million active customer accounts within Australia. The campaign was developed in collaboration with PayPal’s global agency network, Publicis Groupe, indicating a coordinated effort to enhance the brand’s visibility and appeal in the Australian market.
